The Hub is now CLOSED for building works until April 2026.

A place to share, repair, and reuse.

The Hub will be back very soon!

We’re thrilled to be able to say that The Hub’s future in Shrivenham is safe and bright. The sale of the Hub building has now been completed, and we are delighted to share that our new landlord, J.Knapp & Sons is a wonderfully community-minded organisation who has been determined to help The Hub continue.

This means that we will be renting 50% of the building and, even better, we’ll be sharing it with Shrivenham Post Office – fantastic news for the whole community!

To accommodate the necessary building works The Hub is now closed until our re-launch in May 2026. We want to say a huge thank-you to all our wonderful customers, volunteers, and supporters for being part of the journey so far, we truly couldn’t do this without you.

In the meantime, please note that blister pack recycling is still available at The Refillery, so you can continue to drop yours off there.

We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 with exciting new plans!

How it works

Rethink what you need, change how you buy, and reduce waste.

The Hub is a community centre helping local people learn how to live more sustainably.

In a world where we can order 50 envelopes with one click, it’s too easy to have more than we need, spend more than we’d like, and unintentionally create waste. The Hub is about unlearning those modern habits and making it easier for us all to recycle, reuse, and reduce our shared environmental footprint.

We are your partner…

…in the quest to reduce waste. Our vision is of a community that makes mindful, responsible choices about what we consume, use, and dispose of. Consider repairing rather than replacing clothes or refilling containers rather than buying new ones.

Donating to us

Due to limited storage space, we can only accept items that are clean, in good working order, and suitable for resale. Disposing of unsellable items responsibly comes at a cost to us.

All donations are checked by a volunteer and may occasionally be declined if they don’t meet the above criteria. If we are at capacity, we may also need to decline donations. Please treat our volunteers with respect if this decision is made.

Thank you for your support — we truly appreciate every donation.

Thoughtful reuse

We are here so goods can be redistributed and reused. Apart from the Refillery, we sell what we’re given. You might pop in because you need one cotton reel or a single pencil, but you don’t need to buy a box of 10. By only buying what you need, you share resources and reduce waste.
