The Hub is a sustainable community centre aimed at supporting our local community and surrounding area to live more sustainable day to day lives. Our goal is to facilitate people working together to create less waste and take up more recycling, reusing and repairing.

We weigh everything that gets recycled and reused so we can measure our community impact. Keep reading to find out more about what you can get involved in at The Hub.

NEW OPENING HOURS:

Wednesday 10am - 4pm
Friday 10am - 4pm
Saturday 9 am - 2pm

Children’s Clothing

Both the clothing exchange and the book swap work on an exchange or cash donation basis. You can donate your used books or clothes and swap for new, or if you don’t have anything to donate at the time, we ask for a donation that suits your budget to help us fund The Hub to stay open

Donations must be:
- Clean
- Damage free
- Stain free

We don’t have facilities to wash clothing, so please only donate good quality items and save any clothing that can no longer be used for the kerbside collection. (Put it in a tied carrier bag next to your green bin)

You can find out details about the council textile recycling here - White Horse District Council Waste Pages

Thrift Items

We accept small household items of all kinds.

  • Nothing large e.g. furniture.

  • No electrical items.

  • No CDs or DVDs

All items should be in pristine condition and you can choose to split the money 50/50 with us or donate 100% to our funds.

All items are marked with a suggested donation amount just like in most charity shops.

The Book Room

Drop, swap and read non-stop!

Come and swap your books and jigsaw puzzles at The Hub.

Don’t worry if you don’t have anything to swap though, you can pay a small donation to get you on your swapping journey.

Refill & Plastic Free

We offer a range of products (see below) from The Solid Bar Company, SESI refill and Splosh. These companies all aim to offer reduced or plastic free options.
